You can use spring cleaning as a fitness routine
Experts suggest using spring cleaning as a fitness routine. The first-weekend challenge of spring cleaning in St. Louis is a great starting point when it comes to burning off some of those winter calories. Cleaning Studies reveals that cleaning can burn between 170 to 238 calories in an hour. As revealed by a local Home Depot associate in Fox2now news, an effective spring-cleaning means making the house sparkle which also includes touching those spots that you have most likely been neglecting.
According to him, cleaning would require various workouts like jumping, crouching, stretching, etc. Though the cleaning might not give you the body of a swimsuit model, it can bring you real health benefits. To get more benefit from the routine, he recommends working quickly and speeding up the time you spend doing the work.
Other tips he mentioned include tightening your abs, carrying heavy baskets for laundry, scrubbing floors on your hands and knees, climbing on a stepladder at every chance you get and many more. This is one of the fitness challenges you might want to start today.
Coronavirus hits popular gym chain
Expert warns Australians to workout at home as Coronavirus has hit popular gym chains. According to Peter White, UNSW professor of microbiology, gyms are one of the first places to stay away from if you want to stay healthy.
The warning came after a popular gym, Fitness First, on George Street, in Sydney admitted that one of their members had the virus while he was in the gym between the hours of 6 am-11 am on March 9.
As reported by the Daily Telegraph, the gym later issued a statement to all members, asking them to be on a lookout for any symptoms within 14 days. While the gym remains open, it was thoroughly disinfected in accordance with the guidelines of the NSW Health Department.
Other gyms have taken drastic precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. As suggested by Fitness Australia CEO Barrie Elvish, the gyms have also instructed their staff and members to use disinfectant wipes and wipe the equipment before they use it.
Coronavirus hits popular gym chain
L.A. Gyms are temporarily closing due to the Coronavirus outbreak, followed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announcement about signing an executive order that mandates the temporary closure of public places on Sunday, March 15. Affected places are bars, arcades, gyms, movie theaters, and bowling alleys but restaurants will remain open for just takeout and delivery orders only.
While gyms haven’t exactly be known to be safe spaces for the germ averse, the outbreak of coronavirus has further put everyone on high-touch surface alert, leaving fitness-conscious Angelinos worrying about the best way to stay in shape during this period.
Popular gyms have all stepped up cleaning efforts or hired the services of a private cleaning company. Gym owners report slow down in business, reduced morale of some of their clients and members are spending a lot on trying to break a sweat at home instead of coming to the gym.
