Old Dominion University Student Recreation Center is located at 4700 Powhatan Ave Ste 1207Norfolk, VA 23529 in the University campus. It is owned and run by the university.

Student Recreation Center is made up of a 15,000 square feet multi-level fitness center, racquetball courts,multiple gymnasiums, indoor climbing wall, pool, an indoor track and facilities for equipment rentals.The gym has lots of machines and a diverse selection of workout equipment. Exercise classes include cycling, martial arts, yoga and so on.

Recreation programs provided by the center are:

Outdoor Adventure Programs, Aquatics Programs, Intramural Sports, CPR & First Aid Certifications, Courage Miller Partners Challenge Course Programs, Fitness & Wellness and Sport Clubs

Membership benefits include:

Unlimited use of Fitness Center, Strength Equipment and Free Weights as well as Cardiovascular Equipment, Use of Indoor Running Track, Access to Certified Personal Trainers, Unlimited Group Exercise Classes, Unlimited Group Cycling Classes, Water Fitness Classes, Wellness Seminars and Challenges, Gymnasium with Three Basketball Courts, Racquetball Courts, Lap Swimming, Rock Climbing Wall and Clinics, Volleyball Courts, Outdoor Adventure Center, Use of University Fitness Center, Complimentary Fitness Assessments, Special Member Events

The recreation center facilities are student-fee funded and facilities are made avalaible to all enrolled, full and part-time fee-paying ODU studentsat no additional charge. Although, memberships may be purchased for a spouse, partner, or dependent ages 18 or older for $80. Membership is also available for purchase to ODU staff and retirees, University Friends and community members. In addition, they are also allowed to purchase memberships for a spouse/partner and/or children 18 – 23 years of age. Prices depend on the category of employee and whether it is on monthly or semester bases.

Daniel from Norfolk enjoys being a member of the ODU SRC and using the gym. He says the recreation center was built in the best way to provide multiple athletic opportunities for students, alumni, family members, faculty and staff.
